چکیده

This manuscript reviews the current trends in recovery of Platinum Group Metals (PGMs) from end-of-life autocatalysts and aims recently funded Marie Sklodowska-Curie Project “Chemistry Metals-CHemPGM” towards greening PGMs processes reusing recovered for preparation new catalysts. Together with analysis state art spent through pyrometallurgical hydrometallurgical routes recent reducing their environmental impact, also emerging sustainable green technologies are analyzed. Particular focus is given on mechanochemical processing as a promising route not only pretreatment waste materials but direct leaching. The present review identifies catalysts carbon neutrality few efforts developing PGM-based starting directly liquor leach solutions envisaging therefore possible key to close loop more efficient way.

Separation and Recovery of Platinum and Palladium from Spent Petrochemical Catalysts Using Activated Carbon, Analysis of Two Kind of Most Used Catalysts in Petro Chemistry

The goal of this work is the separation and recovery of platinum and palladium from spent catalyst. The recovery consisted of separating the maximum amount of platinum and palladium from catalysts and changing them into usable forms. The petroleum and petrochemical units use Pt and Pd catalyst for reactions such as reforming and hydrogenation. Because these materials contain valuable metals...

Recovery of Platinum and Palladium from the Spent Petroleum Catalysts by Substrate Dissolution in Sulfuric Acid

In this study, the recovery of platinum and palladium from petroleum catalysts has been elaborated using a method consisting mainly of dissolving alumina substrate in sulfuric acid thereby concentrating the precious metals in the residue. The effect of dissolution temperature and time, concentration of sulfuric acid, and pulp density on the dissolution of alumina substrate was investigated syst...

Studies on Platinum Recovery from Solutions after Leaching of Spent Catalysts by Solvent Extraction

The results of studies on the separation of platinum(IV) ions by solvent extraction from aqueous solutions after leaching of spent catalysts have been reviewed. The following processes have been discussed: acid leaching of spent catalysts and solvent extraction of platinum(IV) ions by using organophosphorous acids, amines and oximes as the extractants. In hydrometallurgical leaching of spent au...

Recovery of Palladium from Spent Activated Carbon-Supported Palladium Catalysts

TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center, Chemistry Institute, 41470 Gebze, Kocaeli, Turkey Email: [email protected] Activated carbon-supported palladium catalysts are liable to progressive deactivation even in the absence of any gaseous contaminants during the oxidation of hydrogen under ambient conditions. The high value of palladium coupled with environmental considerations means that n...
